Dongjak-gu Spring Festival 'Ipapnamu Snow Flower Festival' Held

Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 27th that it will hold the ‘Ipapnamu Flower Festival’ in the Sangdo area (Sangdo 1, 2, 3, 4-dong) around the Soongsil University campus.

The ‘Ipapnamu Flower Festival’ is Dongjak-gu’s representative festival where all residents can enjoy and participate in the beauty of the Ipapnamu flower road that stretches from Sangdo Station intersection to the main gate of Soongsil University. This year marks the 8th anniversary of the festival.

The festival will be held from 2 PM to 6 PM and will be richly composed of pre-event performances, the main event, and side events to delight the eyes and ears of residents.

As pre-event performances, there will be busking featuring jazz, classical, and dance, along with ▲resident singing contests ▲magic bubble shows ▲Dongjak Boys and Girls Choir ▲and a congratulatory performance by invited singer Park Sang-min to energize the festival.

The main event will start with an opening ceremony at 4 PM, followed by a popera performance by soprano Han Song-yi and exciting stages by trot prodigy Choi Ji-wook and singer Kim Sang-bae.

Along with the food market, which is an essential part of the festival, there will be ▲a children’s playground ▲Ipapnamu photo zone ▲and enjoyable experience programs such as leather keyring making, bead crafts, and eco-bag making.

Additionally, the district will hold consecutive events so residents can fully enjoy spring.

On the 26th, the ‘2024 Dongjak-gu Disability Inclusion Festival’ will be held at the central square of Nodeulnaru Park, providing a time for people with and without disabilities to come together and communicate equally.

Also, in celebration of May as Family Month, the ‘1st Dongjak Children’s Grand Festival’ will take place. Starting at 11 AM on May 4th at Noryangjin Soccer Stadium, various programs such as family sports day and Big Flea Market will allow the whole family to participate and create joyful memories together.

Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “Through various events including the Ipapnamu Festival, Dongjak-gu’s representative spring flower festival, we will expand opportunities for residents to enjoy culture in their daily lives,” adding, “We will continue to implement diverse policies to expand cultural and artistic infrastructure.”
