Lee Jun-seok: "People Power Party Lost Because It Is a Yeongnam Party"

MBN 'Sisa Special' Interview Appearance
"Yoon Seok-yeol and Lee Jae-myung Summit is a Battle of Pride"
Jo Guk New Party and Parliamentary Negotiation Group "No Intention"

Lee Jun-seok, leader of the Reform New Party, analyzed the scheduled summit between President Yoon Seok-yeol and Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "If you ignore Leader Lee Jae-myung after the general election, you won't even be able to appoint the prime minister at will."

In an interview on MBN's 'Sisa Special' that afternoon, Lee said, "Politically, treating Leader Lee Jae-myung like a criminal and then suddenly recognizing him as a partner in state affairs is, in my view, more about a pride battle than political meaning or addressing people's livelihoods." He predicted that there would only be superficial talks aimed at securing cooperation for the prime minister's appointment.

Regarding the government's state administration, he criticized, "No matter how many people the president replaces now, he inevitably receives incorrect reports. If you speak frankly, you die. Isn't this the current state administration policy?" He added, "Because it is recognized that if you criticize me, speak frankly, or say even a word about Mrs. Kim Keon-hee, you die."

Lee pointed out, "This is because I saw how those who initially provided proper reports and diagnoses were erased."

On the possibility of the Reform New Party forming a parliamentary negotiation group with the National Innovation Party, he drew a line, saying, "We have no such intention." Lee said, "The National Innovation Party only lights up when talking about the prosecution, and I haven't really heard about their stance on the economy, culture, or security," adding, "Individual consultations on what they do are possible."

Regarding former Commissioner Han Dong-hoon's bid for party leader, he directly criticized, "For him to manage the aftermath of the general election he led is like in hwatu (Korean card game), where you both bet and win yourself."

On the People Power Party's defeat in the general election, he said, "Yeongnam lawmakers might say they lost because of us, but it's true that they lost because they are a Yeongnam party," and pointed out, "If Commissioner Han Dong-hoon can't win any election and loses his touch, who is the floor leader to compensate for that? Isn't he from Daegu?"

Regarding the possibility of Lee Jun-seok proposing a meeting with President Yoon, he dismissed it, saying, "At least in my relationship with President Yoon, he has no credit capital," and added, "Even if I propose or meet and talk, no meaningful conversation will come out."
