SK Geocentric announced on the 21st that it will participate in 'Chinaplas 2024,' one of the world's top three plastic and rubber exhibitions, held in Shanghai, China, from the 23rd to the 26th. SK Geocentric plans to showcase high value-added future chemical products such as Ethylene Acrylic Acid (EAA), Ionomer (I/O), and lightweight materials.
The theme of this year's 'Chinaplas 2024,' which involves over 4,400 companies and institutions worldwide, is "Smart Manufacturing, Advanced Materials, and Eco-friendly Recycling Solutions." The number of visitors is expected to reach 250,000 this year.
SK Geocentric has prepared three sectors under the themes of ▲ Adhesive & Sealing Solutions and New Technology Energy Solutions ▲ Lifestyle Solutions ▲ Advanced Solutions at its 340㎡ (1,120 pyeong) exhibition booth.
The Adhesive & Sealing Solutions and New Technology Energy Solutions sector will feature EAA and Ionomer as core products. EAA is a high value-added chemical product mainly used for packaging materials. Its versatility across various fields is expected to significantly expand the global market. SK Geocentric acquired EAA plants in the United States and Spain in 2017 and is currently constructing its third EAA plant in China. In the New Technology Energy Solutions sector, it will showcase Polyolefin Elastomer (POE), which has excellent physical properties and is used in solar power panels.
An SK Geocentric official stated, "High Acid EAA, used in recycled paper packaging, eco-friendly can coatings, and adhesive materials for batteries, is a production technology possessed only by SK Geocentric among global companies." He added, "We plan to continuously expand our portfolio of high value-added chemical products, including Primacor, which is sought after by global customers."

The Lifestyle Solutions sector is composed of products that apply plastic recycling, plastic reduction, and plastic substitution technologies. Visitors can also explore UD tape, a lightweight material for vehicles that is lighter yet stronger than existing metals and plastics, as well as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and the high value-added product Lotryl, which are used in home appliances, medical devices, and automotive parts.
SK Geocentric will also hold a technical seminar, introducing its technological capabilities and business competencies to over 70 client companies and institutions.
