IAEA: "No Damage to Iran Nuclear Facilities... Urges Extreme Restraint"

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced on the 19th that there was no damage to the nuclear facilities in Isfahan Province, Iran.

On the same day, the IAEA stated through X (formerly Twitter), "We were able to confirm that there was no damage to Iran's nuclear facilities."

It added, "Rafael Grossi, IAEA Director General, is urging everyone to exercise extreme restraint and emphasizes that nuclear facilities must never become targets of military conflict."

On the same day, Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency reported hearing explosions near Isfahan Airport and the 8th Army Aviation Base military camp. CNN cited a senior U.S. official stating that Israel attacked Isfahan.

Isfahan Province houses key nuclear facilities central to Iran's uranium enrichment program, as well as missile facilities and military bases. Isfahan is known as one of the locations from which missiles and drones were launched when Iran conducted a large-scale airstrike against mainland Israel six days ago.

Iranian state news agencies reported that Iran's nuclear-related facilities are completely safe and that the scope of the attack appears to be limited.

CNN also cited a senior U.S. official who stated that Israel did not attack Iran's nuclear facilities.
