The Jeju Safety Experience Center has secured specialized instructors for disabled persons to conduct tailored experiences and has developed sign language videos for the hearing impaired, establishing and operating the ‘Safe Companionship’ program for disabled participants.
The ‘Safe Companionship’ program is an in-house program of the Jeju Safety Experience Center, where specialized instructors are fully responsible for everything from reservations by disabled organizations wishing to participate, to conducting the experience and providing follow-up management.
A representative of the Jeju Safety Experience Center stated, “We will strive to create an environment where anyone can participate in experiential education without inconvenience by establishing customized experience environments for each target group and to realize a safe society. We ask for the interest and participation of disabled organization representatives.”
Meanwhile, according to statistics from the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters, in 2023, a total of 53 disabled institutions and 1,948 individuals completed experiences at the Jeju Safety Experience Center throughout the year.
