On the 18th (local time), An Byeong-hun scored 3-under 68 in the first round of the PGA Tour RBC Heritage (total prize money $20 million) held at Harbour Town Golf Links (par 71, 7,213 yards) in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA, placing him in a tie for 17th. Im Sung-jae and Kim Si-woo also joined this group, laying the groundwork for a top-tier entry.
An Byeong-hun made three birdies without any bogeys. He secured birdies on the 2nd and 5th holes (both par 5) with powerful long drives, and added another birdie on the 11th hole (par 4) in the back nine. He saved par on the remaining seven holes. J.T. Poston (USA) surged with an 8-under 63 to dominate the top of the leaderboard. He is ranked 47th in the world with two career wins. Defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick (England) finished tied for 38th (1-under 70).
