Donation to Seoul Metropolitan Social Welfare Council
Hanwha Impact (formerly Hanwha General Chemical) has continued its social contribution activities to build an eco-friendly energy society by supporting energy efficiency improvement projects for social welfare facilities for the second consecutive year.
Hanwha Impact announced on the 19th that it delivered 35 million KRW, raised through voluntary participation of employees and company funds, to the Seoul Metropolitan Social Welfare Council.
The donation will be used for projects aimed at improving energy efficiency in social welfare facilities located in Seoul or managed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The energy efficiency improvement project refers to green remodeling construction that enhances the energy performance of aging buildings to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
In May, the Seoul Metropolitan Social Welfare Council will recruit support candidates. This year, the application scope has been expanded to include facilities that were relatively neglected due to differences in location and management areas.

The project plans to reduce electricity consumption by replacing old incandescent bulbs within facilities with high-efficiency LED lighting and support the installation of solar power generation facilities to enable power supply through renewable energy.
Last year, seven welfare facilities achieved electricity cost savings through the donation and obtained the equivalent carbon dioxide reduction effect of planting 18,099 ten-year-old pine trees.
A Hanwha Impact official said, "To realize the important values of carbon neutrality and welfare environment improvement in our society, employees have united their intentions again this year. We will continue to contribute to creating an eco-friendly energy society."
A representative from the Seoul Metropolitan Social Welfare Council said, "In this era of climate crisis where energy transition is essential, we expect this project, conducted in partnership with companies, to help improve energy efficiency and the environment of vulnerable social welfare facilities."
