Five Selected Including Goyang Hydrogen Conference, a Specialized International Meeting in the Gyeonggi Area

Gyeonggi Province has selected five events this year as regionally specialized international conferences, including the Goyang Hydrogen Conference.

On the 19th, Gyeonggi Province announced that through the '2024 Regional Specialized Convention Discovery and Development Project' competition, it has confirmed five events: ▲Goyang H2 (Hydrogen) MEET Conference ▲Siheung Korea Materials Surface Technology Conference ▲Gimpo Eco-friendly Next-generation Automobile Racing Conference ▲Bucheon International Comics Market ▲Suwon Gwanggyo Bio Week.

Gyeonggi Province will provide support ranging from 55 million KRW to a maximum of 90 million KRW for these selected events.

Additionally, an advisory group composed of academia and professional international conference planners will provide consultation to help these events advance as international conventions, focusing on internationalization, linkage with regional industries, and revitalization of tourism and the economy.

Through support for the events selected in this regional specialized convention competition project, Gyeonggi Province expects to generate economic ripple effects including 6 billion KRW in production inducement effects, 2.5 billion KRW in added value inducement effects, 65 jobs created, and 40 employment inducement effects.

A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "We will assist the newly discovered specialized conventions in regions such as Bucheon and Gimpo to develop international competitiveness by linking industry, tourism, and culture through this competition project. Furthermore, we will spare no effort to support their growth into conventions that can represent the Republic of Korea."
