As sales of LG Electronics' 'Affectionate Intelligence' air conditioners have surged, the AI air conditioner market is expanding.
On the 19th, LG Electronics announced that the domestic first-quarter sales of 2024 model Whisen air conditioners equipped with AI features increased by about 30% compared to the same period last year.

Earlier, the company introduced new Whisen models featuring the affectionate intelligence function 'AI Smart Care,' including the Whisen 'Tower I,' 'Tower II,' and 'Whisen View.'
Among them, Tower II accounted for about 70% or more of the total AI air conditioner sales in the first quarter, establishing itself as a popular product.
LG Electronics has redefined artificial intelligence (AI) as affectionate intelligence, meaning to empathize with customers and provide benefits such as safety and security in daily life, and is expanding the range of products applying this concept.
The AI Smart Care function of LG Electronics' affectionate intelligence air conditioners analyzes the space and provides optimal comfort without the user having to adjust wind strength or direction. It maintains temperature with comfortable airflow that does not directly hit the user or activates the purification function when air quality deteriorates.
Lee Jae-sung, Vice President and Head of the Air Solution Division at LG Electronics' H&A Business Division, said, "With enhanced AI Smart Care, we will provide a comfortable daily life and lead the AI air conditioner market."
