On the 18th, the Namyangju Nambu Police Station announced that they had sent Professor A (in his 40s) to the prosecution without detention on charges of quasi-forced sexual molestation. A is accused of touching female student B's body without consent after drinking at a department MT held at a pension in Namyangju in mid-February.

After the incident, B publicized the matter on the university community 'Everytime,' which is accessible only to enrolled students. Initially, B filed a complaint against Professor A at the Gangbuk Police Station in Seoul, but the Gangbuk Police Station transferred the case to the Namyangju Nambu Police Station, which has jurisdiction over the location where the incident occurred.

It is understood that A admitted to some of the charges during the police investigation.

Meanwhile, sexual harassment refers to acts of physical contact without mutual consent that cause feelings of disgust, hatred, or sexual shame. According to the '2019 Sexual Violence Safety Survey' conducted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, 17.9% of women and 1.2% of men reported experiencing sexual harassment, with women experiencing it more than ten times as often as men. The severity of the sentence varies greatly depending on the circumstances of the molestation; if accompanied by assault, threats, or forcibly removing or lifting clothing, it is classified as forced sexual molestation, resulting in a harsher sentence.
