On the 18th at Irwon Ecopark Center, 27 Meritorious Persons for the Development of Welfare for the Disabled Received Commendations, with Commemorative Performances and Experience Booths 운영
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) held the 44th Disabled Persons' Day commemorative event "Majubom" at Ilwon Ecopark Center in Ilwon-dong at 2 p.m. on the 18th.
Hosted by Gangnam-gu and organized by the Gangnam-gu Disabled Persons' Organizations and Facilities Federation, this event was conducted with the meaning of disabled and non-disabled people communicating, harmonizing, and facing each other.
In the first part of the ceremony, a performance expressing "A Happy Gangnam for Disabled Persons" in large calligraphy was held, and 27 meritorious persons, including disabled persons and welfare facility workers who contributed to the development of disability welfare, were awarded certificates of commendation.
In the second part, singers Kim Tae-yeon and Mokbi performed to enhance the festive atmosphere.
Additionally, to improve awareness of disabilities and provide activities that both disabled and non-disabled people can enjoy together, 19 experience booths operated, including massage experiences for the visually impaired, tactile experiences, wheelchair decoration, learning sign language, and understanding hearing loss prevention.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "Thanks to many people who have devoted themselves to the healthy and happy daily lives of disabled persons, we were able to realize a more solid welfare network," and added, "We will continue to strive to create a Gangnam that walks together with disabled persons by focusing on jobs for the disabled, customized welfare, and creating leisure spaces."
