Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that it held a "Pre-Tasting Event" to provide better food to tourists visiting the "47th Boseong Dahyang Festival," which will be held for five days from May 3rd.
This tasting event showcased 2 to 3 representative menu items from 12 vendors participating in the festival. The menu included a variety of dishes such as Nakji Hoe Muchim (spicy octopus sashimi salad), Nakji Jeon (octopus pancake), Dasulgi Bibimbap (freshwater snail mixed rice), Kijogae Muchim (pen shell salad), Jeyuk Bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork), Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), bread, and beverages.
About 20 people, including Kim Gyu-woong, the Vice Governor and a tasting evaluation committee member, and Park Hae-jong, Chairman of the Boseong Dahyang Festival Promotion Committee, tasted the food and discussed evaluations on taste, quality, quantity, price appropriateness, and areas for improvement.
Boseong-gun expects that this tasting event will increase trust and satisfaction regarding the food sold, and plans to provide menus listing the prices of all items at every booth on the festival site.
Vice Governor Kim Gyu-woong said, "Through this tasting event, we prepared to enhance the quality of festival food and provide tourists with a richer food experience." He added, "We will continue these efforts to further develop Boseong-gun’s festivals, culture, and tourism industry."
Meanwhile, from May 3rd to 7th, Boseong-gun will hold various festivals including the Boseong Dahyang Festival, Boseong Residents’ Day, Seopyeonje Boseong Sound Festival, Illimsan Azalea Cultural Event, Children’s Day, Green Tea Marathon, National Yacht Competition, Daily Concert, and Drone Light Show at the Korea Tea Culture Park and surrounding areas.
