Sindae Library Signs MOU with Suncheon National University Robot Science Education Center

Mutual Cooperation to Expand AI Future Education in Local Communities

Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on the 16th that it signed a business agreement with Suncheon National University Robot Science Education Center to promote library use and expand future education in the local community.


Shindae Library is utilizing the Makerspace "Byeolbyeol Workshop" space in collaboration with Suncheon National University Robot Science Education Center to start programs such as making sound-responsive mood lights and 3D pen bookmarks. In 2024, it will also conduct AI programs and coding education.

Through this business agreement, both parties agreed to mutually cooperate on ▲utilizing the instructor pool of Suncheon National University Robot Science Education Center ▲supporting systematic science-related programs such as AI and coding ▲activities for mutual development and spreading the value of software ▲promoting to local residents and recruiting participants. Additionally, professional personnel will be employed to further conduct science education and continuously operate educational programs.


A city official stated, "We expect this business agreement to greatly help in nurturing future talents," and added, "We hope it will be an opportunity to discover talents through various science experience programs."


Meanwhile, Shindae Library opened on December 9th last year. So far, more than 116,000 users have visited, and it is operated as a special cultural space in the local community that fulfills the lack of cultural infrastructure in the new town area.
