Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, presented a plaque of appreciation to Song Oksik, a Korean resident in Japan, who practiced neighborly love and sharing, at the city hall reception room on the 18th.
The plaque presentation was arranged to express gratitude to Mr. Song, a Korean resident in Japan, who has shown special affection for Changwon Special City through his donations.
Mr. Song donated 20 million KRW and five high-end digital pianos in September last year to support the dreams of children in Changwon City, commemorating 100 years since his grandparents moved to Japan and left their hometown.
Mr. Song said, “I made this donation with a sincere heart to help the children of my hometown grow up with dreams, brightly and healthily.”
Mayor Hong said, “Helping others is difficult without a warm heart, and I thank you for visiting your hometown in person and practicing sharing,” adding, “Changwon Special City will also actively strive to ensure that children grow up happily and healthily.”
