Golf culture is gradually changing. It is shifting from a personal hobby to a family leisure activity. Golf is no longer just a pleasure for golfers but a sport to enjoy with family. Due to this change, a golf course being good alone is not enough to be considered the best. There must be good field conditions, food, and attractions. We introduce the ‘Field 3GO’ golf courses that are suitable for spending happy times with golf.
▲EnjoyGO= Pine Beach Golf Links (hereafter Pine Beach) is a representative premium golf course in South Korea, located in Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do. It opened in 2010 and was designed by Gary Roger Beard. Its strengths lie in the beautiful courses gifted by nature and top-notch service. Among golfers, it is regarded as a “must-visit golf course at least once” and a “golf course you want to revisit.” Last year, it was selected as one of the ‘Top 100 Asia Pacific Courses’ by the American Golf Magazine.
It is called the ‘Pebble Beach of Korea.’ You take shots while overlooking the sea and walk side by side along the coastline. It is the 27-hole ‘original seaside course of Korea’ that returns with the horizon behind you. It offers various types of rounds with a hilly pine course, a beach course adjacent to the coast, and the exotic landscape of the Oceano course. The signature hole is the 6th hole of the beach course (par 3, 215m). It is a place where you must tee off toward a green towering across the sea. It is the most dramatic hole in Korea.
The brand slogan is ‘Pine Beach for real golfers.’ Since March last year, it has been leading the spread of advanced golf culture by creating a walking golf program that allows players to fully enjoy nature and play. Walking golf is a self-round played without a caddie. Golfers rent a single manual trolley themselves to carry their golf bags and move by walking?a new golf culture. This year, single and double play programs have started to enjoy a dignified round.
Since July last year, AI robot trolleys have been introduced. Equipped with advanced IT technology, they automatically follow the golfer. Safety is ensured with an emergency stop function when obstacles are detected. Through the display mounted on the cart, golfers receive necessary information such as course details and score registration. By this year, the plan is to replace the fairways with 100% premium bentgrass species. The ultimate goal is to leap to the ‘World’s Top 100 Golf Courses.’
The tee-off interval at Pine Beach is 10 minutes. This year, green fees have been reduced by up to 30% compared to the previous year. Fixed green fees have been set without any price increases for at least three years until 2026. The golf usage period is divided into four seasons, and a seasonal pricing system has been introduced. Weekday and weekend fees for each season are disclosed on the website. One-year tee time openings are implemented as a way to overcome the geographically disadvantaged location compared to the metropolitan area.
At the Pine Beach Golf Links restaurant, the Surasang, featuring seasonal sashimi, Korean beef, and tteokgalbi, is the best choice.
▲EatGO= The clubhouse was renovated last March. You can enjoy the blue sea, beautiful islands, and warm sunlight outside the window. At the restaurant, you can enjoy the flavors of the southern provinces while admiring the outdoor scenery. There is an 80-seat banquet hall and VIP rooms for hosting group teams and distinguished guests.
? la carte menus include Beolgyo silk mudskipper soup, special Naju beef soup, and Jindo abalone seaweed soup. Popular dishes also include black pork red soybean paste pork belly, stir-fried octopus and pork neck, seafood stew, fermented skate three-way dish, spicy fish stew (Jiri), braised silver cutlassfish, and Jirisan black pork kimchi hot pot. The course menu, Surasang, is the best. You can taste sashimi, Korean beef, and grilled short rib patties. For an additional fee, you can have soy sauce marinated crab with crab roe.
After enjoying the round and food, you can experience special pleasure. You can relax comfortably at the Pine Beach Golf Hotel. The premium suite is the best room at Pine Beach. From the bedroom with a wide ocean view, you can watch the sunset over the Dadohae (Korean Archipelago). It is a space where you can overlook the vast golf course and nature. In addition, there are rooms such as suites, standard twin, and standard double.

The Myeongnyang Marine Cable Car is installed at a historic site. It is perfect for children’s experiential education. It crosses the air above the Uldolmok Strait, the site of the historic Myeongnyang Battle where Admiral Yi Sun-sin defended Joseon against the Japanese army. The whirlpool of Uldolmok, where seawater surges and creates a vortex, is a spectacular sight. The beautiful sunset of the Dadohae creates a fantastic panoramic view.
