The Department of Future Automotive Engineering at Honam University held the 2024 Education Division Industry-Academic Cooperation Council on the 16th at the Imagination Workshop as part of the Industry-Academic-Research Cooperation Leading University Development Project (LINC3.0).
Professor Son Byeong-rae of the Department of Future Automotive Engineering, about 10 undergraduate students, and Shin Sang-hoon, CEO of Hanamotors Co., Ltd., attended the council meeting. They listened to the industry's opinions on the 2024 curriculum organization and discussed effective operation plans for programs such as Capstone Design and Creative Dream Room, which are industry-linked courses.
Additionally, the attending students sought advice on the Capstone Design project research they are currently preparing.
Capstone Design is a company-linked project where students solve topics presented by AI and automotive-related companies. It is a process that fosters engineers with creativity and practical production skills through student-led planning, design, and manufacturing.
Professor Son Byeong-rae of the Department of Future Automotive Engineering stated, "Industry-academic cooperation will be a great opportunity for mutual development between industry and academia," and anticipated that "the cooperation between the Department of Future Automotive Engineering and industry will contribute to the development of the local community."
