Sancheong-gun Holds Anti-Corruption and Integrity Resolution Meeting

Accelerating the Establishment of a Trusted Public Service
Specialized Instructor-Led Training Conducted

Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has strengthened its self-purification efforts to create a trustworthy public service community. On the 18th, Sancheong-gun announced that it held an ‘Anti-Corruption and Integrity Resolution Meeting and Training’ at the county office’s main conference room.

First, the resolution meeting was attended by about 250 public officials, including Lee Seunghwa, the head of Sancheong-gun, who pledged to eradicate solicitation and petition acts, prohibit the acceptance of money and entertainment, and comply with conflict of interest prevention to enhance anti-corruption integrity. In particular, they agreed to unite their efforts to realize a competent public service community based on fairness and responsibility.


Along with this, they invited Bae Jeongae, a professional instructor from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Integrity Training Institute, to conduct anti-corruption and integrity training for about 500 public officials in two sessions, morning and afternoon.


The main training contents included the Act on the Prohibition of Solicitation and the Act on the Prevention of Conflict of Interest, as well as examples of violations of the Code of Conduct for Public Officials that public officials must observe.


To spread a culture of integrity within the organization and improve integrity levels, the county is implementing various policies including this resolution meeting and training, ▲ Challenge! Integrity Golden Bell Quiz Competition ▲ Regular inspections to establish public service discipline ▲ Production of integrity promotional materials and campaigns.


Governor Lee said, “I hope this event will contribute to spreading a culture of integrity,” and added, “Let us make further efforts to become a Sancheong-gun trusted by residents through honest and transparent work execution.”
