Prime Minister Han Duck-soo emphasized on the 18th, "The government will make every effort to manage external risks to minimize their negative impact on our economy and focus all national capabilities on stabilizing the livelihood of the people."

On the same day, at the National Affairs Ministers' Meeting held at the Government Seoul Office, Prime Minister Han said, "Amid ongoing difficulties in people's livelihoods, external uncertainties such as energy supply and supply chains due to the Middle East situation are increasing."

Prime Minister Han stated, "All ministries should prioritize the livelihood of the people as the foremost national value, listen carefully to the voices of the citizens, and devote all efforts to solving problems on the ground," adding, "Moreover, no matter how good a policy is, it is as if it does not exist if the people are unaware of it."

He continued, "Each ministry, from agency heads to frontline workers, should actively communicate with the people on site, explain policies, and focus on promotion," emphasizing this point.

The government will conduct the '2024 Intensive Safety Inspection' for two months starting from the 22nd. It will cover approximately 26,000 targets, including aging social infrastructure such as bridges, dams, and tunnels, as well as everyday safety-vulnerable facilities like traditional markets and children's playgrounds.

Prime Minister Han said, "The life and safety of the people are the government's highest priority to protect," and urged, "All participating organizations, including ministries, local governments, and related agencies, should approach this inspection with special vigilance to ensure it does not remain at a formal level due to past inertia and complacency."
