Sconex Releases XR First-Person Shooter Game 'Strike Rush'

Sconex, a global extended reality (XR) content specialist company, announced that it will officially launch the XR first-person shooter (FPS) game ‘Strike Rush’ on the Meta Quest platform on the 18th.

Hwang Dae-sil, CEO of Sconex, stated, “We have officially launched ‘Strike Rush,’ which we prepared as a core business this year, worldwide,” adding, “We will actively carry out marketing activities such as social media, reports from global XR review media, and online and offline showcases to allow many users to experience Strike Rush.” He continued, “We plan to expand the revenue structure and extend the game life cycle by additionally releasing DLC (Downloadable Content) that offers unique fun in the future.”

Strike Rush is a team-based action shooting game that adapts the hero shooter genre, previously enjoyed on PC, consoles, and mobile, into an XR/VR (virtual reality) environment. Four players form a team, and up to eight players compete on designated maps in a domination mode where the team that occupies the opposing team’s base and earns higher points wins. It is a new title from Sconex, known as the mecca of railgun shooters with releases such as Korea’s first arcade gun shooting game ‘Operation Ghost’ and the VR FPS game ‘Mortal Blitz,’ which attracted great attention from gamers even before its release.

The distinctive features of Strike Rush are ‘Blitzmon’ and ‘Colossus.’ Blitzmon is a kind of pet concept, an interactive AI character that demonstrates various abilities such as movement, attack, defense, and healing according to the user’s commands. Colossus is a powerful mechanical robot that can instantly turn the tide of battle. A member of the development team explained, “When riding the Colossus, we focused on detailed aspects such as the height of the viewpoint and the movement of the cockpit to make users feel as if they are controlling a massive mechanical robot.”

Additionally, various features such as single-player games and mini-games are provided to keep users engaged on the game server for extended periods. Park Geon-hwi, game director at Sconex, said, “We enhanced the game’s completeness by reflecting feedback from global tests,” adding, “We aimed to create a game that anyone can easily experience, gradually become familiar with, and try various elements based on its accessibility.”
