Yongin City's Character 'Joayang' Appears in Everland Parade

Appearing as the Main Character in the Saturday Performance Starting from the 20th

'Joayang,' the character of Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province, will appear in Everland's representative event, the 'Carnival Fantasy Parade.'

Yongin City announced on the 18th that 'Joayang' will take the stage as the main character of the Everland Carnival Fantasy Parade every Saturday from the 20th to May 11. Joayang is a character shaped like a dragon, the symbolic animal of Yongin City.

This parade participation follows the city's signing of a 'Character Cooperation Business Agreement' with Samsung C&T Everland Resort in July last year. The city explained that this is the first case where an external character appears as the main character in Everland's parade.

The Carnival Fantasy Parade is a parade where you can feel the passion of famous world festivals at once, such as the samba of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the masks of Venice, Italy. Joayang will ride on the 'Venice Zone' vehicle among the nine parade cars and move from the entrance of the Rose Garden to the Carnival Square, showcasing its cute and charming appeal.

Earlier, the city developed and launched cooperative products featuring Joayang and Everland's popular character 'Resi' to commemorate the Year of the Blue Dragon. A total of 42 products, including cushions and key holders, have sold more than 17,000 units so far.

Mayor Lee Sang-il said, "I am pleased that Joayang will appear as the main character in a large-scale parade at Everland, the city's representative tourist destination, as the first public character." He added, "I hope citizens will show great interest so that Joayang can continue to grow into a global character."
