The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 18th that it held two full meetings of the Jeonse Fraud Victim Support Committee over the past month, reviewing 1,846 cases and finally approving 1,432 cases as Jeonse fraud victims, etc.
Specifically, there were 1,432 approved cases, 223 rejected cases, 52 dismissed appeals, and 139 cases excluded from application. Among these, the excluded cases were able to receive full refund of deposits through guarantee insurance and priority repayment, while the rejected cases did not meet the requirements.
Among the submitted agenda items, there were a total of 114 appeals, of which 62 cases were re-approved as Jeonse fraud victims, etc., after additional verification of eligibility. A total of 1,294 appeals have been received so far, with 651 accepted and 602 dismissed. The remaining 41 cases are under review.
The committee has cumulatively finalized 15,433 cases as Jeonse fraud victims, etc. A total of 807 cases were approved for urgent suspension of public and private auctions, and a total of 9,303 cases have been supported in housing, finance, and legal procedures for victims.
Tenants who have received a notice of non-recognition or have been determined as Jeonse fraud victims, etc., can file an appeal. Even if the appeal is dismissed, relief can be obtained through reapplication if circumstances change in the future.
Tenants experiencing difficulties due to Jeonse fraud can apply for victim determination at the city or provincial office with jurisdiction over their residence. Once determined as a victim through committee resolution, they can receive guidance on support measures through the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) Jeonse Damage Support Center (in-person and phone) and branches (in-person).
