The story of a British couple who divorced due to a lawyer's click mistake has been reported.

The lawyer reportedly submitted documents related to the Williams couple by mistake while handling divorce proceedings for another client. The Vardags law firm, to which the lawyer belongs, had been representing Mrs. Williams.

The divorce papers were approved just 21 minutes after being mistakenly submitted. The Williams couple was in the process of negotiating property division, but due to the lawyer's error, they suddenly faced divorce. Two days later, the law firm realized the mistake and urged the court to withdraw the divorce order. The firm explained, "Someone clicked the wrong button."

However, the judge stated, "Like many similar online processes, you must go through a series of steps to reach the final screen (for divorce)." This indicated that the court found the law firm's claim of a 'mistake' less credible. In response, the law firm criticized, saying, "Are you saying a divorce can happen because of one mistake online? This is neither right, reasonable, nor just."

Meanwhile, in the UK, one spouse can initiate divorce proceedings even without the consent of the other spouse if they express the desire to divorce.
