Environmental Landscape Design Student Awarded Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Prize
Gyeongnam Information University (President Kim Tae-sang) announced on the 17th that students from the Department of Environmental Landscape Design at the university won the Grand Prize and Excellence Award at the "20th Busan Urban Agriculture Expo National Garden Design Competition" hosted by Busan City.
Second-year students Yu Mi-jeong, Lee Dong-hee, Kim Yeo-jin, and Kim Min-jae from the Department of Environmental Landscape Design submitted a work titled "Healing Chair" and won the Grand Prize, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award.
Also, second-year student Kim Mi-ae and first-year student Yoo Jae-min won the Excellence Award, the Busan Metropolitan City Mayor's Award, with their work "Tetris Garden."
It is known that Kim Mi-ae and Yoo Jae-min are adult learners.
Students from the Department of Environmental Landscape Design at Gyeongnam Information University are delighted to have won the Grand Prize and Excellence Award at the National Garden Plot Design Competition.
Yu Mi-jeong, who received the Grand Prize, said, "During a mentally difficult time, I regained vitality by cultivating and observing companion plants, so I am even happier to receive an award for a healing garden," and added, "All the experiences in the competition were valuable as a prospective landscape architect."
A representative of Gyeongnam Information University stated, "We were able to achieve good results by well implementing a unique idea that started from imagination," and added, "We will continue to provide differentiated education that only a junior college can offer through creative and practical education."
