Check 40 Designated Animal Hospitals in Eunpyeong-gu on the Official Website, Visit After Phone Inquiry
For Dogs and Cats Over 3 Months Old
Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it will conduct 'Spring Rabies Vaccination' at 40 designated animal hospitals in the area until the 29th.
Rabies is a zoonotic disease that can be transmitted to humans if bitten by an infected animal, with a very high fatality rate. Therefore, households with pets must vaccinate them once a year.
Accordingly, Eunpyeong-gu will supply about 2,000 rabies vaccines to local animal hospitals and support vaccination to prevent rabies and reduce medical expenses for pet-owning households.
The vaccination targets are dogs and cats over 3 months old living in Eunpyeong-gu. However, in the case of dogs, vaccination is only possible if the animal is registered according to the Animal Protection Act, so owners must bring an identification tag or animal registration certificate when visiting the animal hospital.
The vaccination fee is 10,000 KRW. Vaccination support is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and will automatically end when the vaccines supplied by the district are exhausted. A total of 40 animal hospitals are available for vaccination, which can be checked on the Eunpyeong-gu Office website. When visiting an animal hospital, please call ahead to confirm vaccine availability.
For more details regarding the vaccination, please contact the Health and Hygiene Division of the Eunpyeong-gu Public Health Center.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, "Protecting the health of pets through rabies vaccination is our responsibility," and added, "We ask households raising pets to actively participate in the vaccination to safeguard their pets' health."
