Establishment of 'CPR Training Center' and Expansion of Education for All Residents to Enhance Emergency Response Skills
CPR Training Using Smart Devices... Linking Chest Compression Intensity with Apps
Concurrent Emergency Care Training for Airway Obstruction, Myocardial Infarction, Stroke, and Other Situations
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will establish a ‘Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training Center’ to protect the ‘golden time that creates a 4-minute miracle’ and expand emergency treatment and CPR education to all residents.
The establishment of this ‘permanent training center’ aims to enhance the ability to respond quickly in the event of unexpected accidents, ensuring the safety of residents and moving toward a safer community.
The newly opened ‘CPR Training Center’ is located on the first floor of the Yeongdeungpo-gu Public Health Center.
The training consists of theoretical education and practical exercises that simulate real situations so that participants can respond immediately without panic in emergencies. It covers ▲ ‘Telephone-assisted CPR,’ which allows performing CPR under medical guidance via 119 emergency calls ▲ emergency treatment for specific situations such as myocardial infarction or stroke ▲ airway obstruction treatment, and various emergency response methods that can occur in daily life, all of which can be learned hands-on.
In particular, the district conducts training using smart devices to ensure accurate CPR. By linking mannequins with smart devices, participants can check compression depth, speed, and strength in real time, guiding them on the correct CPR techniques.
The district emphasized that emergency treatment is another life insurance that requires immediate response in urgent situations where every second counts, and that performing CPR within 4 minutes can more than double the survival rate.
Additionally, the district is expanding the training, which was previously conducted mainly for groups, to individuals and groups of fewer than 15 people. Training sessions are held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Groups or residents wishing to receive training can apply through the Seoul Public Service Reservation website.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “Learning emergency treatment skills can save the lives of my family and neighbors in emergencies that can happen anytime, anywhere,” and added, “The core of local administration is the safety of residents. We will do our best to establish a thorough safety net prioritizing residents’ safety.”
