The Ministry of Employment and Labor stated that considering that four serious accidents resulting in five worker deaths have occurred at the SeAH Besteel workplace since the Serious Accidents Punishment Act came into effect in January 2022, they plan to take strict measures.

They will issue a work suspension order, investigate the cause of the accident and any violations of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and the Industrial Safety and Health Act, and through a safety inspection order, prepare and implement special safety management measures to eradicate fatal accidents.

Minister of Employment and Labor Lee Jeong-sik emphasized, "We will thoroughly supervise whether appropriate safety and health measures have been taken at SeAH Besteel, where fatal accidents have repeatedly occurred recently," and added, "If violations of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and the Industrial Safety and Health Act are confirmed, strict action will be taken."
