An opportunity has been created to easily understand the support systems for protecting technology of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) managed by various government ministries. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 16th that it held the '2024 1st SME Technology Protection Briefing Session' at the Daejeon Convention Center, together with related ministries such as the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Fair Trade Commission.
This briefing session was piloted in September as part of the 'Measures to Strengthen Support for SME Technology Protection' announced in June last year, and this year it is scheduled to be held in Gwangju, Busan, Seoul, and other locations following Daejeon.
In addition to the existing participation of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the Fair Trade Commission, and the National Police Agency, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration joined to focus on explaining technology protection support for defense industry companies.
Furthermore, companies participating in the briefing session can attend various lectures such as the 'Core Rules Guide for SME Technology Protection' and 'Response Measures through Cases of Technology Leakage and Theft and Amendments to the SME Technology Protection Act' delivered by experts with extensive field experience. Companies wishing for on-site consultations with technology protection experts can also receive customized security guides tailored to their individual company situations.
