Couple Greeting Morning at Hotel Startled as Man Suddenly Opens Door and Enters

Disturbance at Incheon Hotel as Neighboring Guest Enters Room
"When Requesting an Apology from the Hotel, They Told Me to File a Formal Complaint"

A commotion occurred when a stranger entered a hotel room, and it was reported that the hotel responded lukewarmly. On the 16th, a post titled "A stranger entered while I was sleeping at a hotel" was uploaded to an online community. The author, Mr. A, said that around 7 a.m. on the 14th, while staying with his wife at a hotel in Incheon, someone opened the door and entered their room, waking them up.

Mr. A recalled the situation, saying, "I was startled and opened my eyes to see a burly man I had never seen before standing by the door. When I asked who he was, he just said he entered because the door was open and then left." He added, "At that time, my wife and I were naked and not even covered with a blanket. Given the situation, my wife was trembling in shock and shame, not knowing what to do."

Angry, Mr. A and his wife went down to the hotel lobby to complain to the staff and request an apology, but the response they received was absurd. The hotel told them to "file a formal complaint legally." After obtaining police permission, Mr. A reviewed the CCTV footage from the time of the incident and found that the person who entered the room was a guest staying in the adjacent room. The footage showed the guest staying in Mr. A’s room for about seven seconds before leaving.

Regarding this, Mr. A said, "I know hotel staff have master keys that allow access to all rooms, but I don’t understand how a regular guest could enter the neighboring room." He expressed frustration with the hotel’s lukewarm attitude, saying, "I am angry, and my wife is suffering from sexual shame and mental trauma due to the psychological shock."

Netizens who read the story sympathized with Mr. A, commenting, "I can’t believe the hotel’s careless response," "Isn’t the hotel door supposed to lock automatically when closed?" and "I wouldn’t be able to sleep because of the anxiety." However, some also responded, "There might not have been much the hotel front desk could do," and "It seems the neighboring guest didn’t do it intentionally."
