According to LG Electronics on the 16th, Jo emphasized at the 'CEO F·U·N Talk' held the previous day at the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, with the theme of leadership, that "Leadership is the key to transforming into a high-performance organization."
Speaking in front of about 10,000 employees, Jo defined a "high-performance organization" as "an organization that constantly pursues excellence to continuously produce outstanding results compared to competitors and in the process grows together with both the company and its members." He added, "To constantly pursue excellence, it is necessary to secure continuous learning and passion for improvement, as well as goal setting and exceptional execution capabilities. To achieve outstanding results compared to competitors, it is essential to firmly establish differentiated competitive advantages and provide experiences and values recognized by customers."
The 'CEO F.U.N Talk' is a program created by Jo after his appointment to communicate with employees. This was the 10th event. Jo selected leadership as the first topic again this year following last year. He believed that transforming into a high-performance organization is necessary for the company's continuous growth, and that it is more important than anything for all members to have leadership and boldly take on challenges.
Jo also presented the behavioral principles for leadership called ‘A.C.E’. ‘A.C.E’ stands for ‘Aim for Clarity’, ‘Conduct with Agility’, and ‘Excellence in Process’. Jo said, "Leadership will become stronger when the ‘A.C.E’ behavioral principles are practiced."
He also emphasized the importance of ‘organizational culture’ as a factor for transforming into a high-performance organization. The idea is to create an environment where people can work happily and to enable members to fully demonstrate their potential and grow steadily through changes in the way of working.
Additionally, he stressed the need to focus on three areas: Product, Process, and People, while closely monitoring and continuously managing short-term sales and operating profit, as well as long-term business portfolio and corporate value enhancement.
As an excellent example in the product field, he cited the subscription business. Regarding the way of working, he mentioned the Affectionate Intelligence solution developed based on customer experience data and various AI system cases. For member capabilities, he introduced a systematic development system and various support measures the company is preparing. Jo also announced that programs to maintain employees’ mental health and opportunities to strengthen coaching capabilities will be provided.
Jo plans to hold this year’s ‘CEO F.U.N. Talk’ not only at the Seoul LG Twin Towers but also at several business sites including Pyeongtaek, Gumi, and Changwon, to create more opportunities to meet with employees.
