Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical Launches 'Linolestroki' Honey & Grapefruit Flavor for Sore Throat Dissolving Use

Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical Launches 'Linolestroki' Honey & Grapefruit Flavor for Sore Throat Dissolving Use

Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical announced on the 16th that it will launch a new honey & grapefruit flavor of its anti-inflammatory analgesic Linol Estroki (Linol). This new product expands the lineup following the existing lemon flavor of ‘Linol Estroki,’ broadening consumer choices.

A marketing representative from Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical stated, “We launched the new honey & grapefruit flavor of ‘Linol’ to satisfy diverse consumer preferences. Unlike the already released lemon flavor, which was designed with reduced sweetness for those who dislike strong sweetness, this new product emphasizes a refreshing grapefruit scent and sweetness for consumers who prefer a sweeter taste.” He added, “Above all, most oral medications have similar flavors, but since this product is meant to be dissolved in the mouth, we wanted to introduce a familiar yet new flavor that is not commonly found in pharmacies.”

Linol Estroki honey & grapefruit flavor helps relieve short-term symptoms of sore throat and pharyngitis. Each tablet (1300mg) contains 8.75mg of flurbiprofen.

Flurbiprofen is a type of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) known for its rapid onset and strong analgesic effects. The effect begins within about 15 minutes after administration and lasts for approximately 2 to 4 hours.

The recommended usage is to slowly dissolve one Linol Estroki tablet in the mouth. If necessary, up to 5 tablets can be taken per day at intervals of 3 to 6 hours, with a maximum usage period of 3 days.

Linol Estroki honey & grapefruit flavor is in troche form, making it easier to take compared to tablets or capsules, and can be conveniently taken without water. As it is an over-the-counter drug, it is only available at pharmacies.

The marketing representative from Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical explained, “The troche form allows the medication to remain in the oral cavity for a relatively long time and dissolves in saliva to act directly and locally on the affected area (throat). This results in faster pain relief and less gastrointestinal burden, making it optimal for relieving discomfort and pain caused by sore throat.”

Meanwhile, Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical, established in 1957, is a company specializing in over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. Its representative products include ‘Lemona San,’ ‘Jahasaengryeok,’ ‘P.M.,’ ‘Minol Eftroki,’ ‘Gyeol Collagen,’ and the ‘Calo series.’
