Confirmed abnormal hemoglobin levels during home care and assisted emergency transfer
Interior company leading in helping neighbors repaired hot water drainage pipes free of charge
Agreement signed with internal medicine clinic and interior company in Hwagokbon-dong, Gangseo-gu to support welfare blind spots
The Hwagokbon-dong Community Service Center (Director Kim Sun-mi) in Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) and companies that have signed agreements to identify welfare blind spots continue their good deeds, bringing warmth to the local community.
Last month, the community service center signed agreements with Jeong Internal Medicine Clinic and Altteul Equipment Interior, companies that have been dedicated to helping neighbors in need. As a result, at the end of last month, they discovered cancer in a solitary elderly person and helped with treatment.
Jeong Internal Medicine Clinic, during home care, found that the hemoglobin level of the solitary elderly patient was only one-third that of a normal person and suspected cancer, immediately notifying the community service center. Together with the center, they persuaded the elderly patient who initially refused hospitalization and helped transfer him urgently to Seonam Hospital. A few days later, the patient was diagnosed with stomach cancer and underwent prompt surgery.
The CEO of Altteul Equipment Interior has always been attentive to neighbors in difficulty and took the lead in resolving inconveniences. After hearing the story of a solitary elderly person who had to mop water from the living room and bedroom floors all night due to a burst hot water drainage pipe, the CEO visited the home and repaired the hot water drainage pipe free of charge.
Going forward, Jeong Internal Medicine Clinic and Altteul Equipment Interior will immediately notify the community service center upon discovering vulnerable groups in need, and the center will provide customized welfare services.
Kim Sun-mi, director of Hwagokbon-dong, said, “We will strive to strengthen the welfare safety net of Hwagokbon-dong by actively supporting vulnerable groups in crisis together with local residents.”
