Establishing Position as a Leading Institution in Win-Win Growth

Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) announced on the 15th that it achieved the 'Highest' grade in the "2023 Public Institution Win-Win Growth Evaluation" conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups annually evaluates 134 public institutions on their efforts and achievements in win-win cooperation and mutual growth with small and medium enterprises (SMEs), assigning and announcing five grades from 'Highest' to 'Improvement.' In this year's 2023 evaluation, the Authority achieved the remarkable feat of being selected as the 'Highest Institution' for the first time since its establishment in 2011.

This marks an improvement of three grades over the past four years since receiving a 'Normal' grade in 2019, establishing the Authority as a leading public institution in win-win growth. The Authority explained that its continuous efforts for mutual development with SMEs and rural fishing communities have culminated in the achievement of the 'Highest Institution' status.

To strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs in Yeosu Gwangyang Port, the Authority has continuously expanded and developed various win-win growth projects, including △support for productivity innovation, △market access support, △welfare support, △cultivation of fair trade culture, and △technology protection, as well as projects for mutual development with local SMEs and rural fishing communities through the large and small enterprise and rural win-win fund.

The Authority has already been recognized for its external achievements, such as receiving the Ministerial Commendation for Win-Win Growth in 2023 (Ministry of SMEs and Startups), being selected as the best port in safety and environmental fields (International Port Association), and achieving the highest grade as a recognized institution for community contribution (Ministry of Health and Welfare). By achieving the 'Highest' grade in this public institution win-win growth evaluation, the Authority has underscored its external achievements in win-win growth and cooperative efforts.

President Park Seong-hyun of the Authority stated, "This remarkable achievement was accomplished through company-wide efforts for win-win growth under the management policy of 'Customer First, Active Sales, Safe Port, and Coexistence with the Region.' As a leading public institution in win-win growth, we will continue to promote cooperative projects that contribute to the national economy and regional development," he added.
