Recognition for Efforts to Expand Sustainable Win-Win Growth Projects Including Establishment of 18 Billion KRW Win-Win Fund
Year-on-Year Increase in Win-Win Growth Performance Scores and Partner SMEs' Perception
Busan Port Authority (BPA) has received the highest grade, "Excellent," in the "2023 Public Institution Win-Win Growth Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The "Public Institution Win-Win Growth Evaluation" is a system initiated with the purpose of having the public sector play a leading role in cooperative growth with small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This year, 134 public institutions participated in the evaluation.
BPA achieved the highest grade for two consecutive years, following 2022, by steadily expanding its win-win growth activities.
In this evaluation, BPA not only improved its scores in detailed win-win growth tasks such as "Creating a Win-Win Cooperation Culture and Startup Ecosystem," but also saw an increase in the survey results reflecting the cooperating SMEs' perception of the institution's win-win growth performance.
BPA established a 18 billion KRW scale win-win fund to support the alleviation of financial difficulties for 321 SMEs, and implemented various financial support measures such as rent and usage fee reductions for about 300 companies using the facilities owned by the authority.
BPA also supported the strengthening of SMEs' technological competitiveness by providing a testbed utilizing Busan Port infrastructure.
Additionally, to ensure the safety of port workers and support efficient port operations, BPA built an integrated port logistics platform, and was recognized for this achievement by receiving the Presidential Citation at the 2023 Korea Logistics Awards.
Prior to this, BPA has been highly evaluated for its contributions to cooperative growth, having received the Grand Prize in the Comprehensive Category of Korea Sustainable Management and obtaining the Rural ESG Certification for two consecutive years.
BPA President Kang Jun-seok stated, "It is very meaningful to have achieved the result of being selected as the top institution for two consecutive years through continuous and diverse customized support projects for SMEs at Busan Port," and added, "We will continue to play a leading role in improving the self-reliance of the port industry and establishing a win-win growth ecosystem."
