Muan County Office Kendo Team Achieves Victory by Winning Individual Title at the 28th National Business Kendo Championship

6th Dan Individual Tournament Winner Yuhaneul, 3rd Place Kim Hanbeom in Unified Individual Tournament

Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 15th that Yuhaneul (35, Kendo 6th Dan), a player belonging to the Muan-gun Office, won first place in the 6th Dan individual category, and Kim Hanbeom (30, Kendo 4th Dan) achieved third place in the integrated individual category at the 28th National Corporate Kendo Championship.

The tournament, hosted by the Korea Corporate Kendo Federation, was held from the 6th to the 9th over four days at the Chungnam Cheongyang-gun Citizen Gymnasium. About 500 participants from 26 male and female corporate kendo teams competed fiercely.

Player Yuhaneul defeated Daegu Dalseo-gu Office’s Ju Yeonwoo 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the 6th Dan individual category, and Yongin City Office’s Jo Jinyong 1-0 in the semifinals. In the finals, he faced Gwangmyeong City Office’s Bang Jihoon and won 2-0, achieving the remarkable feat of winning the individual championship. Additionally, player Kim Hanbeom earned an excellent third place in the men’s integrated individual category.

Governor Kim San said, “I thank all the kendo team members who have elevated Muan’s prestige with outstanding performances in every match, and we will continue to provide unwavering support so that they can achieve good results in the future.”

Meanwhile, the Muan-gun Office corporate kendo team, founded in 2002, currently consists of eight players led by coach Lee Gwangcheol, and received the Excellent Organization Award of the Year from the Korea Kendo Association in 2023.
