Customer Who Received Expensive Bleaching Treatment at Hair Salon
Leaves Note Instead of Payment and Runs Away
"Currently in Difficult Financial Situation, No Money"
A customer who received an expensive bleaching treatment at a hair salon fled without paying, claiming "financial difficulties," causing a hit-and-run incident.
Recently, JTBC's 'Case Manager' reported the story of a 20-something customer who left only a note instead of paying and ran away, causing damage to the salon owner. According to a report from A, the salon owner, on the 9th, a male customer named B visited the salon. Since A's salon operated by appointment only, A told him, "Not now, please make a reservation about an hour later and come back." However, B said, "I made a reservation but have nowhere to go, so I will wait," and reportedly spent an hour inside the salon.
Afterward, A performed the bleaching treatment on B using expensive products. When it came time to pay, B pretended to look for his wallet by searching his pockets and bag. Then, B suddenly handed A a note and ran out of the store. The note read, "I am 22 years old and an aspiring writer, but I am currently in financial hardship and have no money," and "If I succeed later and earn a lot, I will definitely repay your kindness." The total cost of the treatment B received was 64,000 won.
Another note was found besides the first one. It said, "I also have panic disorder and am not in good health, but I am overcoming it. I was moved to see the owner empathize with the customer's words." This appears to have been written after A showed sympathy when another customer mentioned a traffic accident.
After handing over the notes, B even took off his shoes and ran away barefoot. A immediately chased after him, but B, seemingly familiar with the neighborhood, hid in various alleys. A claims that B wrote the notes inside the salon rather than bringing them prepared. In fact, the salon's closed-circuit television (CCTV) captured B appearing to write something. At the time, A thought B was studying.
A has currently submitted the CCTV footage and notes to the police. He added, "I decided to report this because nearby business owners might suffer the same damage."
