Asan City Citizens Recommend and Select 'Kind Driver' Monthly

Asan City in Chungnam is attracting attention by having citizens directly select courteous drivers among public transportation workers.

On the 15th, the city announced that to ensure safe public transportation operation and spread a friendly atmosphere, citizens who use public transportation will directly recommend and select courteous drivers every month.

In the first month of implementation, March, 118 various cases were received, and after a verification process conducted jointly with transportation companies, a total of five courteous drivers were selected: three city bus drivers and two taxi drivers.

Mayor Park Kyung-gwi awarded certificates to the courteous drivers on the 12th at the Asan City Complex Public Garage.

To recommend a courteous driver, citizens can add the Asan City Hall Public Transportation Department's KakaoTalk channel and enter their recommendation. Ten citizens who make recommendations each month will receive coffee coupons.

An official from Asan City stated, “To quickly spread a friendly atmosphere among transportation workers, certificates will be permanently displayed on the vehicles of courteous drivers. At the end of the year, about 10 ‘Smile Drivers’ will be selected from the monthly courteous drivers through a review, and they will be honored with awards and given opportunities for overseas training.”
