Dong-A Pharmaceutical Launches 'Solumedi-M', a Medical Device for Migraine Relief

Dong-A Pharmaceutical announced on the 15th that it will launch the self-medical care device for migraine relief, 'Solumedi-M,' on the 16th.

Solumedi-M, developed by Newain, an electronic medicine research and development company, is a wearable device applied to the forehead. It stimulates the trigeminal nerve located around the forehead with microcurrents to induce nerve modulation, thereby relieving migraines and reducing their frequency. It features two functions: an acute mode that alleviates migraine symptoms and a preventive mode that reduces the frequency of attacks. It has obtained certifications including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), European Conformity (CE) medical device certification, and the international standard medical device quality management system certification ISO13485.

Last year, Dong-A Pharmaceutical signed an exclusive domestic sales and supply contract for migraine relief medical devices with Newain, taking charge of domestic sales, while Newain is responsible for product manufacturing and after-sales service.

A representative from Dong-A Pharmaceutical stated, “We expect Solumedi-M to be a good solution that can improve the quality of life for those who have difficulty with migraine drug treatments and those who need relief and prevention of migraine pain.”
