Library Naming Contest at Guro-dong 1-4 Retention Basin

“Name the library!”

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) is holding a naming contest for the library scheduled to open this year.

The district stated, “We are promoting this contest to select a popular and creative name for the library by gathering diverse opinions from residents.”

The target is the provisional Guro-dong 1-4 retention basin library, currently under construction in front of Exit 3 of Sindorim Station, with a total floor area of 1,444㎡ and three floors above ground.

The first floor will house an open reading room and a book caf?; the second floor will feature tiered bookshelves, a digital resource room, and a general reading room; and the third floor will include a children’s resource room, a program room, and study rooms.

Anyone interested can apply, and the application period is from the 15th to the 26th of this month. Applicants can submit their application forms via email or by visiting the Guro-gu Office’s Culture and Tourism Division.

After screening, the results will be announced in May on the Lighthouse of Wisdom and the Guro-gu Office website. Winners will receive a prize.

For more details, please contact the Culture and Tourism Division of Guro-gu Office.

Moon Heon-il, Mayor of Guro-gu, said, “Located near Sindorim Station, this library will become a new cultural space where many residents can access books and communicate,” adding, “We look forward to your creative ideas and active participation.”
