S-OIL delivered a sponsorship fund of 100 million KRW to the Heart Heart Foundation at its headquarters in Mapo, Seoul on the 15th, ahead of Disability Day. The fund will be used to support the performance activities of the members and to conduct disability awareness education for elementary, middle, and high school students as well as the general public.
The Heart Heart Orchestra, established in 2006, is the first orchestra in Korea composed of individuals with developmental disabilities, aimed at helping disabled youth develop their talents and participate in society. Since 2009, S-OIL has supported the Heart Heart Foundation to improve awareness of disabilities. To date, it has sponsored approximately 1.4 billion KRW through hosting 43 Sunshine Sharing Concerts, conducting 423 Heart Happy School disability understanding education sessions with about 199,539 participants, and providing scholarships to 241 members with developmental disabilities.
Additionally, S-OIL has hired seven disabled members as new employees, held small concerts at its headquarters, and continues to support the musical activities of youth with developmental disabilities, demonstrating sincere cultural and artistic sharing activities.
An S-OIL representative stated, "The harmony achieved by the members with developmental disabilities after long periods of practice was beautiful and moving," adding, "We will continue to support the musical activities of youth with musical talents and developmental disabilities for a long time and strive to be a company that fulfills its social responsibilities."
