Hanwha Solutions Participates in the World's Largest Cable Exhibition for the First Time in 6 Years

Showcasing Up to 550kV Cable Insulation Materials
"Accelerating Global Business Expansion"

Hanwha Solutions is participating in 'WIRE 2024,' the world's largest cable exhibition, to target the global market.

Hanwha Solutions announced on the 15th that it will participate in 'WIRE 2024,' held from the 15th to the 19th in D?sseldorf, Germany. The exhibition features over 1,500 companies in the cable sector and a total of more than 2,700 companies from related industries.

Hanwha Solutions Participates in the World's Largest Cable Exhibition for the First Time in 6 Years

At this exhibition, which Hanwha Solutions is attending for the first time in six years since 2018, the company will open its largest-ever booth and showcase various ultra-high voltage cable material products. The main products include cable insulation material cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and semi-conductive material ethylene butyl acrylate copolymer (EBA), as well as new products such as the next-generation ultra-high voltage material (SEHV), which improves performance by enhancing existing XLPE, and specialized materials for submarine cables (CLNS).

SEHV is a next-generation insulator developed in line with the ongoing trend of expanding transmission network capacity. It can maintain stable transmission quality even in ultra-high voltage cables up to 550 kV, making it suitable for use in 500 kV-class cables, which are currently the highest voltage cables in commercial use. CLNS is characterized by minimizing defects during cable production and reducing post-processing time, improving productivity by more than 20%.

A technical seminar for cable manufacturer engineers will also be held. At the Hanwha Solutions technical seminar on the 17th, technologies for ultra-high voltage cable materials such as XLPE and semi-conductive materials optimized for long-distance transmission industries like high-voltage direct current (HVDC) will be introduced, along with insulation technologies for internal networks in response to the increasing capacity trend of offshore wind power plants.

Won Jae-sik, head of Hanwha Solutions' PO Business Division, said, "We will promote the excellent quality of Hanwha Solutions' cable materials and enhance brand value at this exhibition," adding, "We will accelerate global business expansion by leveraging Hanwha Solutions' unique technological capabilities."
