Expected Synergy from Industry-Academia Collaboration such as Technology Exchange
Public Institution AI Service Upgrade
Solid E&G, a digital transformation (DT) specialist company, announced that it signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST) on the 11th to develop AI-based natural language processing solutions and analysis systems.

Through this MOU, the two institutions agreed to carry out joint development, technology exchange, and cooperation infrastructure construction. Solid E&G expects to expand its ongoing projects by leveraging DGIST's excellent human resources and research capabilities.
Solid E&G is currently conducting innovative service projects targeting various local governments through a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)-based large language model (LLM) service. It is undergoing a proof of concept (POC) process to introduce AI services to public institutions, and through cooperation with DGIST, it is expected to secure advanced technologies and improve the accuracy of the models.
Solid E&G is also expanding its cloud business. Since starting its cloud business in 2017, it has built cloud infrastructure for major public institutions such as the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Korea Railroad Corporation. This year, it is conducting cloud construction projects for various organizations including the Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, Ulsan Metropolitan City Urban Corporation, and Kongju National University of Education.
Vice President Minwoo Baek said, "Solid E&G has established itself as a leading company in the central region cloud market and aims to achieve remarkable results in the AI field," adding, "This industry-academia cooperation will deepen Solid E&G’s technological expertise."
Seongjin Lee, head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at DGIST, said, "DGIST has secured top-level AI research capabilities domestically and internationally and is making every effort to nurture future convergence talents," and added, "Through this cooperation with Solid E&G, we will continue to cultivate talent and contribute to the advancement of AI technology."
