Nowon-gu Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends 'Visiting Orchestra' Performance at Choan Mountain Ceramic Park

On the 14th at 4 p.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the 'Traveling Orchestra' event held at Choansan Ceramic Park in Nowon-gu, Seoul.

'Traveling Orchestra' is a touring performance project planned by the district to provide residents, tired from their daily lives, with various opportunities to enjoy culture. This year, it is scheduled to be held eight times across different local areas, with four performances each in the first and second halves of the year.

The opening performance took place at Choansan Ceramic Park. The stage was mainly composed of performances by the Western Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Bang Seong-ho. The orchestra, consisting of 21 members, presented not only traditional classical music but also pieces crossing various genres.

Featured soloists included soprano Lee Ye-jin and saxophonist Kim Seong-hoon. From Bizet's Carmen Overture with its fast tempo and brilliant orchestration to the popular piece "Flying Through the Deep Night," a variety of songs added to the enjoyment of the residents.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, "This year's 'Traveling Orchestra' has been expanded with the hope that residents can enjoy high-quality music easily in places like their front yards and parks amid their busy daily lives," adding, "We will continue to fill every corner of Nowon-gu with culture so that residents can easily access cultural life."
