Jeon Yeo-ok: "Yoon, a Politician with Resilience... Don't Tailgate Lee Jun-seok"

Lee Jun-seok on Hong Joon-pyo's Prime Minister Card Proposal
"President Yoon Seok-yeol is watching closely"

Former Saenuri Party (predecessor of the People Power Party) lawmaker Jeon Yeo-ok targeted Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo and Reform New Party leader Lee Jun-seok, who have been criticizing former People Power Party Emergency Committee Chairman Han Dong-hoon day after day.

On the 14th, former lawmaker Jeon posted an article titled "Former Leader Lee Jun-seok, Don't Wag Your Tail!" saying, "You think 'Hong Joon-pyo as Prime Minister' would be good as the successor to Prime Minister Han Duck-soo who resigned? What makes you think you have the appointing authority?" and added, "President Yoon Seok-yeol is wide awake and alive, you know."

This was a criticism of Reform New Party leader Lee Jun-seok’s suggestion of a prime minister appointment card as a measure to reform the government and manage the ruling party, where he said, "One way is to invite Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo, who is well regarded by the younger generation, as prime minister and share a significant part of the government affairs."

Former lawmaker Jeon said, "It was not President Yoon Seok-yeol who pushed out former leader Lee Jun-seok. It was the party members and the people who did," and added, "He somehow avoided being a four-term minus (Ma4) veteran by getting a badge, but looking at his behavior, it was really good that he was sent away."

The criticism was also directed at Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo. "Mayor Hong is not someone who would get involved in childish games," she said, questioning, "When Lee was called a prime minister candidate, didn’t he say, 'Is Lee Jun-seok a decent politician?' and firmly state that Lee would never be elected if he became Ma4?" She fiercely criticized, "The conservative right wing has permanently discarded Lee. Does it make sense to support him thinking he will be pushed as a 'presidential candidate'?"

Earlier, Mayor Hong attracted attention by posting on his online community "Youth’s Dream" a message about Reform New Party leader Lee Jun-seok, saying, "He is still a decent politician. Congratulations on your election."

She also criticized the continuous attacks on former Emergency Committee Chairman Han Dong-hoon. "And even if everyone keeps quiet and says 'It’s my fault, it’s my fault,' it’s absurd to belittle Chairman Han and disparage party members. How does that help?" she sharply remarked.

In conclusion, she praised President Yoon, saying, "President Yoon is a politician whose true strength shows more when the situation is difficult," and added, "Leader Lee Jun-seok should continue as the Reform New Party leader. Even if he tries to 'rejoin' the party wagging his tail, the party members will be fed up. No matter how Mayor Hong and Leader Lee try to take over the People Power Party, it is absolutely not a People Power Party that will accept them. The party members and the conservative right wing will not tolerate it."

Recently, Mayor Hong drew attention by repeatedly criticizing former Emergency Committee Chairman Han Dong-hoon in relation to the ruling party’s defeat in the 22nd general election. The Reform New Party, led by Lee Jun-seok, demanded the president shorten his term and make an early resignation decision, emphasizing the need for constitutional amendment for a two-term system.
