Park, who was elected in Haenam, Wando, and Jindo in this general election, stated on Facebook that "the public sentiment has already declared bankruptcy on the Yoon Suk-yeol and Kim Kun-hee prosecution regime," and argued that "the president should meet with Lee Jae-myung, the party leader, to form a national unity cabinet as the way to save the country."

He emphasized, "We need to discuss and reach an agreement on the Kim Kun-hee issue, the Itaewon disaster, and the special prosecution of Chae Sang-byung to pave the way for the 22nd National Assembly to work," and added, "We must negotiate on livelihood issues such as inflation, interest reduction for self-employed small business owners, and farmers, fishermen, and livestock farmers." He also urged the guarantee of freedom of the press, saying, "For democracy, especially to ensure freedom of broadcasting, the two leaders should meet daily to tackle all issues including the reform of the Korea Communications Standards Commission."

Finally, he warned, "If you continue to perform the presidency for the next three years as you did in the past two years, the country will collapse."

Park Ji-won, elected from the Democratic Party of Korea in Haenam, Wando, and Jindo, was born in 1942 and is 81 years old. He is the oldest candidate among the parliamentary party candidates who ran in this general election. Early in the vote count, he secured his victory with an overwhelming margin and recorded the highest nationwide vote share with 92.35%. In his victory speech on the 10th, he said, "As a senior politician, I will devote my experience and wisdom to restoring the politics of dialogue so that the 22nd National Assembly can engage in productive politics for the people."
