They also said, "President Milei emphasized the importance of removing bureaucratic obstacles that hinder investments based on free market economic principles," and "Musk agreed with this."

The two also agreed to unite their efforts to establish clear 'rules of the game' to promote technological development and related business activities for the advancement of humanity.

The Argentine presidential office added that Musk plans to visit Argentina in the near future to hold events aimed at spreading liberal ideals.

The meeting lasted for 1 hour and 20 minutes. The Argentine daily La Naci?n reported that Gerardo Werthein, the Argentine ambassador-designate to the United States who was present, said, "It seemed like they fell for each other at first sight," and "They also discussed Musk seeking opportunities in Argentina's lithium sector."

On the same day, Musk posted a photo on his X (formerly Twitter) account showing him and President Milei smiling and giving thumbs up, with the caption, "To an exciting and thrilling future!"

President Milei and Musk have regularly expressed mutual admiration publicly through social media platforms.

On December 5 last year, Musk posted a clip on his X account of Milei, then president-elect, appearing on a local TV talk show promoting liberal market economic theories. In response, Milei commented in English on his X account, "Elon, we need to talk."

In January this year, Musk posted a video of President Milei’s speech at the Davos Forum, where he criticized socialism and advocated for capitalist free markets, writing, "So hot."

The U.S. daily The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) analyzed that both could gain economic benefits from this meeting.

President Milei can showcase achievements by attracting investments from major foreign companies to his country, while Musk can pursue SpaceX’s satellite internet business expansion and lithium development for Tesla batteries in resource-rich Argentina.

Additionally, thanks to President Milei’s recent deregulation of telecommunications to promote competition, Musk’s SpaceX has received permission from Argentine authorities to provide Starlink internet services.
