Cooperation for Training Specialized Ophthalmic Surgery Medical Staff in Gwangju and Jeonnam Regions
Central Yoon Gil Joong Eye Clinic (Chief Director Yoon Gil Joong) announced on the 13th that it recently signed a mutual business agreement with Korea Alcon, an ophthalmology specialized company, to establish a digital ophthalmic surgery environment and train medical staff.
The signing ceremony was attended by Central Eye Clinic Chief Director Yoon Gil Joong, Alcon North Asia Surgical Division General Manager Choi Jun Ho, as well as hospital and Korea Alcon officials.
Through this agreement, both parties plan to collaborate on building a digital ophthalmic surgery environment using the Alcon Vision Suite and training specialized ophthalmic surgeons in the Gwangju-Jeonnam region.
The Alcon Vision Suite is an ecosystem that supports ophthalmic medical staff by integrating clinical diagnostic devices, digital surgical equipment, and a high-level education system. It connects the entire surgical process with faster and more efficient surgical flow and improved accuracy, enabling medical staff to provide better surgical outcomes for cataract and refractive patients.
The Alcon Vision Suite consists of the ARGOS® Biometer, which assists in ophthalmic surgery planning and intraocular lens power calculation; the LuxOR® RevaliaTM ophthalmic microscope; the NGENUITY® 3D visualization system; and the Centurion® Vision System, which automatically detects intraocular pressure changes during surgery to maintain stable intraocular pressure.
Chief Director Yoon Gil Joong stated, “With the introduction of the Alcon Vision Suite, we have established a systematic digital surgical environment utilizing next-generation digital medical technologies including 3D technology. We expect this to be a great opportunity to provide patients with more precise and systematic care and stable surgical outcomes, while also training professional ophthalmic medical staff.”
