"Do Not Attack" Iran
U.S. President Joe Biden stated that an attack by Iran on Israel is expected to occur soon.
According to a joint White House press pool on the 12th (local time), President Biden responded to a question about how imminent Iran's attack on Israel is by saying, "My expectation is sooner than later."
When asked if he had a message for Iran, Biden said, "Don't (carry out the attack they are preparing against Israel)."
He added, "We have pledged to defend Israel," emphasizing, "We will support Israel, help defend Israel, and Iran will not succeed."
Earlier, John Kirby, White House National Security Council spokesperson, also stressed during an online briefing that "We view this potential threat from Iran as real, actionable, and certainly credible," and "We are watching the situation very, very closely."
According to AFP, a U.S. defense official stated, "We are moving additional (military) assets to the (Middle East) region to strengthen deterrence efforts and increase the protection level of U.S. forces on the ground."
Foreign media including The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that Israel is strengthening its readiness, anticipating a direct Iranian attack on its territory within the next 48 hours.
Iran has pointed to Israel as responsible for the bombing of its consulate in Syria on the 1st and has warned of retaliation.
