On the 12th at 2 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, held a ceremony in the mayor's office to deliver congratulatory gifts for the 'Support Project for Birth Celebration Goods for Multichild Families.'
The district is implementing this birth encouragement policy this year due to the continuous decline in the number of newborns in Nowon District and the ongoing downward trend in the number of second children.
They provide birth celebration goods worth up to 200,000 KRW per person. Rather than simply providing goods, they have established and operate an online mall exclusively for Nowon residents to enhance beneficiaries' choice and improve convenience in using the service.
The delivery ceremony was attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok and Mr. Hong Jong-yeol, father of the second child Hong Seo-ho, born on February 23, 2024. Mayor Oh presented a birth congratulatory card and birth celebration goods, extending his congratulations on the birth of the second child.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok of Nowon District said, “We are considering policies to support childbirth and child-rearing to reduce the decline in birth rates in this low birthrate era,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to create an environment where it is good to have and raise children through customized, community-based support.”
