Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) successfully held the ‘Meeting Seocho Book Street in advance on Library Day’ event on the 12th at the outdoor yard of the National Library of Korea to commemorate the ‘2nd Library Day.’
On this day, with about 600 residents participating, various reading culture contents were available in diverse zones including ▲Experience Zone ▲Performance Zone ▲Exhibition Zone ▲Event Zone.
This event served as a pre-BOOM-UP event for the 'Seocho Book Street,' which is scheduled to officially open on May 25, and is a reading culture festival hosted by Seocho-gu in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the first local government to do so.
Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho-gu, who visited the event site, toured various parts of the venue with Yoo In-chon, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and communicated with residents.
‘Seocho Book Street’ is the fourth street of the ‘Seocho Cultural Belt,’ which Seocho-gu is developing with five themed areas along Banpo-daero from Umyeonsan to the Han River.

Mayor Jeon Seong-su of Seocho-gu said, “Seeing the eyes of the children who visited the event today, I feel that the future of Seocho is very bright,” and added, “I am pleased to hold the ‘Seocho Book Street’ event in Seocho-gu, which is home to Korea’s treasure trove of knowledge.”
