Lee Cheon-su Accompanied Even During Won Hee-ryong's Concession Greetings

Lee Cheon-su, Former Chairman of Won Hee-ryong's Support Committee, Accompanies Concession Speech After Election Loss

In the 22nd general election, former national soccer player Lee Cheon-su, who helped former People Power Party candidate Won Hee-ryong's campaign in Incheon Gyeyang-eul, accompanied Won until his concession. Lee Cheon-su also served as the chairman of Won's support committee and assisted with the campaign.

On the morning of the 12th, former candidate Won, along with Lee Cheon-su, visited various places including the Incheon subway station and the bustling streets of Gyeyang-gu to express gratitude to the citizens. Photos of Won holding a sign that said "Thank you" were posted on Facebook. Lee Cheon-su also expressed his thanks alongside former candidate Won.

Additionally, a video released on the YouTube channel "Won Hee-ryong TV" showed Lee Cheon-su together with former candidate Won. In particular, Won expressed his gratitude to Lee Cheon-su for standing by his side throughout the campaign period. Supporters of Won also responded with comments such as "Both of you worked hard," "We support your future," and "Player Lee Cheon-su stayed with him until the end. Such loyalty is admirable."

Previously, Lee Cheon-su accepted the position of chairman of Won's support committee on the 22nd of last month and campaigned alongside him. Their connection dates back to 2016 when Lee visited the Jeju Girls' High School soccer team, which was on the brink of disbandment due to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's suspension of support, to encourage them.

However, the campaign was not without difficulties. On the 7th of last month, while greeting people on his way to work, Lee Cheon-su was struck on the thigh with a knee by a man in his 60s. Eventually, on the 4th, at a campaign site, Lee tearfully said, "Whenever I hold the microphone, the opponents threaten me so much that my family is having a very hard time, but I will not be discouraged and will continue until the end."

Meanwhile, former candidate Won ran in Incheon Gyeyang-eul and received 40,616 votes (45.45%), losing by a margin of 7,749 votes (8.67%) to Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, who received 48,365 votes (54.12%).
